Privacy Policy

1. Data controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
- [email protected]
2. Overview: what data we process
LearnMath is a free learning resource. You can use the site without signing up or creating an account. We do not collect registration data and we do not sell data.
We essentially process: technically necessary access data when the site is loaded (by our host) and — only with your consent — statistical data for audience measurement.
3. Hosting with Cloudflare
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, and delivered via its content delivery network (CDN). In doing so, Cloudflare processes access data on our behalf (see “Server log files”) and provides security and delivery functions.
A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with Cloudflare. Insofar as personal data is transferred to the USA, Cloudflare relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, in which Cloudflare is certified.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of our online offering (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).

4. Server log files
When the site is accessed, our host automatically collects information that your browser transmits. This includes:
- shortened/anonymized IP address
- date and time of the request
- page / file accessed
- amount of data transferred and HTTP status code
- referrer URL (the previously visited page)
- browser type, browser version, and operating system
This data is technically required to display the website and to ensure its stability and security. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. We do not merge this data with other data sources, and it is not evaluated for advertising purposes.
5. Cookies and consent
We do not set tracking cookies for the mere operation of the site. We only store your choice from the cookie banner locally in your browser (in “localStorage” under the key “lm-consent”), so that you are not asked again on every visit. This storage is technically necessary (§ 25 (2) TDDDG) and takes place without separate consent.
All non-essential services (in particular audience measurement with Google Analytics) are only loaded after you have actively agreed in the banner. Without your consent, no corresponding cookies are set and no data is transmitted to Google.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future — via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. The lawfulness of processing carried out up to the withdrawal remains unaffected.
6. Audience measurement with Google Analytics (consent only)
If you have consented, we use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyze use of the website (e.g. pages visited, approximate region, device type, time on site).
We use Google Consent Mode v2: before your consent, consent defaults to “denied”, so no analytics cookies are set and no personal data is sent to Google. IP addresses are processed by Google in shortened form.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR; § 25 (1) TDDDG). Data may also be transferred to Google servers in the USA; Google relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 5).

7. Self-hosted fonts
This website uses fonts that are provided locally on our server or via our host’s CDN. No fonts are loaded from external providers such as Google Fonts. As a result, when the site is accessed, no separate connection to third-party font servers is made and your IP address is not transmitted to font providers.
8. Retention period
Server log files are stored by the host only for as long as is necessary for the stated purposes (security, stability) and are then deleted or anonymized. The consent choice stored in your browser remains until you withdraw it or clear your browser’s local storage.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
- withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
To exercise these rights, an informal message to the contact address above is sufficient.
10. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your data violates the GDPR (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is, among others, the one at your habitual residence or at our location:
11. Changes to this privacy policy
We adjust this privacy policy as soon as the legal situation or the actual processing changes (e.g. when new services are introduced). The current version published here applies in each case.
